STONEY CREEK GIRLS HOCKEY ASSOCIATION
Stoney Creek Girls Hockey Association is celebrating its 48th year is existence. The Association was
founded to give young female hockey players a place to place the game of hockey in the
and Stoney Creek area.  The SCGHA Executive has been instumental in promoting girls hockey in the
Golden Horseshoe.  They have been able to provide avenues for players of all skill and abilities to
play the game of Hockey.  The SCGHA program sponsor all age groups from Fundamentals,
Houseleague, B through AA.  They encourage their Coaches to work together and develop their
athletes skill sets.  SCGHA is very proud of the Showcase Tournaments as athletes from all over the
Canada and the USA come to the Hamilton/Stoney Creek area each year to compete and showcase
their talents in front of HockeyCanada Scouts along with Canadian and USA University Coaches

STONEY CREEK SHOWCASES
The University Showcase started in 2004 in an attempt to give Junior Teams an avenue to be able to
showcase their talents in front of Coaches from Hockey Canada, CIS and NCAA Universities.
The Showcase has grown from a 16 team event to the present 64 team format.
The Midget Showcase followed in 2005 and also grew to the present 64 team event
The AA Showcase start in 2010 to give Atom, Peewee and Bantam AA teams an option where
only AA teams were involved in the Tournament format.  In 2016 the BAA Showcase commenced.

Divisions have been named after Sabres Alumni in recognition of their outstanding careers  
with the Sabres and their accomplishments over their University careers and Internationally.


CHULI Division

Elaine Chuli played with the Jr Sabres from 2010-2012 and previous with the MAA Sabres from 
2008-2010.  Elaine was a member of the first Sabres BAA in 2007-2008 and took home an OWHA 
Bronze Medal.  Elaine ended her PWHL career with 1.58 GAA including 10 shutouts in 40 games
In 2011 Elaine was a member of the Gold Medal Team Canada at the IIHF World Championships 
and a member on the Gold Medal Team Ontario Red at the 2011 U18 Nationals 
Elaine went on to a stellar career at the University of Connecticut from 2012-2016 and holds the 
Hockey East career save record with 3,431 saves.
Elaine attended the Team Canada Development Team Camp and National Camp.
Elaine played in China in 2018-19 with the Vanke Rays in the CWHL Team and is still playing with  
the Toronto Six in the NWHL.

FORTINO Division
Laura Fortino was a member of the Jr Sabres from 2006-2009 and was Assistant Captain from 
2007-2009.  Laura Sabres career she was a member of Sabres teams that took home 2 Gold and a  
Silver at the OWHA Provincials and a PWHL Gold and Bronze.  Laura had 83 points in 89 games 
during her PWHL career.  Laura was a member of the Gold Medal winning Team Ontario Red in 2007 
and 2008.  Laura  went on to be a member of the Silver Medal winning Team Canada U18 Team in 
2007-08 and 2008-09.  Laura went on to attend Cornell University and were the Finalist in the 
2010 NCAA National Championship Game that was decided in triple overtime.  Laura was an
Assistant Captain her Senior Year.  Laura became a member of Team Canada in 2012.
Laura was the player who set up Poulin's Golden Goal in overtime in Canada's come from behind 3-2 
Overtime Win in the Gold Medal Game at the 2014 Sochi Olympics.  Laura was also a menmber of 
the IIHF Silver Medal Team Canada in 2016 and In 2017 and Bronze in 2019.  She also competed at 
the 2018 Canadian Olympic Team who won the Olympic Silver Medal at the 2018 Olympic Games

JENNER Division
Brianne Jenner was a member of the Jr Sabres from 2005-2008 and Co-Captain in 2007-2008.
Brianne's Sabres career she was a member of Sabres teams that took home 2 Golds at the OWHA 
Provincials and a PWHL Gold, Silver and Bronze.  Brianne ended her PWHL career with 114 points 
including 75 goals in 81 games.  Brianne was a member of the 2005 Team Ontario Blue and took 
home Gold with Team Ontario Red and the Ontario Canada Winter Games teams in 2007
Brianne went on to be a member of the Silver Medal winning Team Canada U18 Team in 2007-08 
and 2008-09.  Brianne attended Cornell University who were the Finalist in the 2010 NCAA National 
Championship Game that was decided in triple overtime,  Brianne was team Captain her Senior year.
Brianne was on the roster of the 2010 Olympic Centralization Team and became a full time member 
in 2011.  Brianne scored the first goal for Canada in their come from behind 3-2 overtime win in 
the Gold Medal Game at the 2014 Sochi Olympics.
Brianne was also a member of IIHF Silver Medal Team Canada in 2016 and in 2017 and Bronze in 
2019.  Brianne was a member of the 2018 Canadian Olympic Team who won the Silver Medal at 
the 2018 Olympic Games and the Gold Medalsit at 2021 IIHF World Championship this past summer. 
Brianne is also Centralized as part of Canada's 2022 Olympic Team.

McKIBBON Division
Sydney McKibbon  was a member of the Sabres from 2009-2013 after playing with the MAA Sabres 
in 2008-09.  Sydney was Team Captain in 2012-2013
Sydney finished 5th in PWHL scoring in 2012-13 season and finished her PWHL career 120 points in 
in 106 games.  Sydney was a member of Team Ontario Blue in 2011 and the Bronze Medalists Red 
in 2012.  Sydney also took home a IIHF Gold Medal as a member of the Team Canada U18 Team
in 2012-13,  Sydney was invited to Hockey Canada's Development Team in 2014 and 2015 
Sydney graduated in 2017 at the University of Wisconsin and was named Team Captain in her Senior 
Year.  Wisconsin made the NCAA Frozen Four in all 4 years of Sydney's career losing in the
Championship Game in 2017.

NURSE Division

Sarah Nurse was a member of the Sabres from 2010-2013 after playing with the MAA Sabres 
in 2009-10 season.  Sarah was an Assistant Captain in 2012-2013
Sarah finished 2nd in PWHL scoring in 2012-13 and finished her PWHL career with 125 points 
in 105 games,  Sarah was a member of the Gold Medal winning Team Ontario Red in 2011 
and Bronze Medalists in 2012
Sarah also took home a IIHF Gold Medal as a member of the Team Canada U18 Team in 2012-13 
Sarah has been a member of Hockey Canada's Development Team in 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2017
Sarah has been named as part of the Hockey Canada Centralized Team for the 2018 Winter 
Olympics.  Sarah graduated in 2017 at the University of Wisconsin and was Assistant Captain her 
Senior Year,  Wisconsin were NCAA Championship Finalists in 2014.
Wisconsin made the NCAA Frozen Four in all 4 years of Sarah's career losing in the Championship 
Game in 2017,  Sarah is a member of the 2018 Canadian Olympic Team who won the Olympic 
Silver Medal.  In 2019 the LLHF Bronze Medalist and took home the Gold Medal at the 2021 IIHF 
World Championships in Calgary, Sarah is centralized as part of Canada's 2022 Olympic Team

O'NEILL Division
Kristin O'Neill  was a member of the Sabres from 2013-2016 and with the MAA Sabres in 2012-2013
Kristin was named Team Captain for the 2015-2016 season
Kristen finished her PWHL career 101 points in 99 games including 49 goals
Kristin helped the Sabres win the PWHL Championship and OWHA Silver Medal in 2015
Kristin was a three time member Team Ontario.  A Silver with Blue in 2013, Gold with Red in 2015
and Silver in 2014 with the Ontario CWG's Team
Kristin also competed for CANADA at two IIHF U-18 World Championships taking home a Silver 
in 2014 and 2015.  Kristin was a member of the 2016-2017 Team Canada Development Team and 
has been named to the 2017-18 Team
Kristin finished her freshman year at Cornell University in 2017 and was named Ivy League Freshman
of the Year.  Kristen during her second season she was named the ECAC Conference Player of the 
Year and First Team All ECAC.  In her Senior Year she ws named Team Captain and a Patty 
Kazmaier Award Nominee.  Kristen was a member of the 2018 and 2019 Team Canada
Development Team Camp.  In 2021 Kristin was named to Team Canada who won the IIHF Gold 
at the Worlds Championships and is now centralized as part of Canada's 2022 Olympic Team

SABATINE Division
Kelly Sabatine played with the Jr Sabres from 2005-2009 and was Co-Captain in 2007-2008 and
Captain in 2008-2009
Kelly is the all-time leading scorer in the PWHL with 200 career points including 101 goals
Kelly was the two time PWHL Scoring Leader in 2007-08 and 2008-09
During Kelly's Sabres career she won 2 Gold and 1 Silver at OWHA Provincials and a PWHL Gold, 
Silver and Bronze
Kelly was a member of the Gold Medal Team Ontario Red and the Ontario Canada Winter 
Gamers Teams in 2007.  Kelly went on to attend St. Lawrence University for 2009-2013 and 
was Team Captain her Senior Year.

VASKO DIVISION
Alexa Vasko played with the Jr Sabres from 2015-2017 and was Captain in 2016-17
Alexa played with the MAA Sabres from 2013-2015 and participated in the 2014 Esso Cup (4th) 
and won an OWHA Silver Medal
Alexa ended her MAA career with 74 goals and 98 assists in 158 games
With Jr Sabres Alexa won a OWHA Silver Medal in 2017
Alexa participated in two U18 National Championships with Team Blue in 2015 and as Captain 
of the Gold Medal winning Team Red in 2016
Alexa was an Assistant Captain with the 2016-17 IIHF Silver Medal winning Team Canada U18 
Team.  Alexa is entering her fifth year at Mercyhurst and was Team Captain in 2019-20 and
2020-21.  Alexa was a member of the 2018, 2019 and 2021 Team Canada Development 
Team Camp

This Tournament is part of the 2021-2022 season, which is not set as the current season.
