SCGHA REGISTRATION REFUND POLICY

We value our Sabres members and your safety is our top priority. After the season commences, the SCGHA may be required to modify or suspend our programming as a result of circumstances beyond our control, including but not limited to:
          - Directives from local, provincial, or federal governments or corresponding health authorities;
          - An outbreak of COVID-19 within the SCGHA community (players, families, arena staff, external service providers, etc.);
          - Modification in rules, regulations, insurance coverage and other issues by our governing hockey bodies; therefore,
The SCGHA will make every effort to respond to and mitigate the impact of any unforeseen circumstances as they arise.

In summary, SCGHA Registration Refund Policy is:

IF A PARENT FOREITS THEIR HOUSE LEAGUE REGISTRATION:
Prior to October 5th, a full refund less $50 administration fee for full season;
Between October 5th and October 19th, a refund of $550 less $50 administration fee for full season programs;
After October 19th, no refunds.

IF A PARENT FOREITS THEIR REP REGISTRATION:
After accepting a position on the Rep team - a prorated refund will apply based on expenses / ice time used less a $50 administration fee (to be discussed with Head Coach and Team Manager).
After October 19th, no refunds.

PURCHASES OF APPAREL/JERSEY/EQUIPMENT:
Once production of ordered items has commenced or ordered items have been received, there will be no refunds on purchases of apparel, jerseys, socks, or branded equipment.

IF THERE IS A SUSPENSION OR CANCELLATION OF THE SEASON DUE TO COVID-19:
For suspension, Sabres member will be credited or refunded to the extent practicable for the amount of time the current season is put on hold.
For cancellation, Sabres member will be credited to the extent practicable for the remaining time in the current season. SCGHA will make best efforts to provide refunds or credits to the extent it is practicable and commits to, at all times, act on a good faith basis. Sabres Players and families will be required to follow certain mandated protocols designed to promote safety in our SCGHA programs, which may include (but are not limited to) thermal scans, self-reporting, quarantine, medical questionnaires, etc. Failure to adhere to the required protocols may result in prohibition from participating in SCGHA programming. In such circumstances, players may not be eligible for a refund.

 
NOTE – the SCGHA is a not-for-profit organization run largely by volunteers. SCGHA’s predominant expense is related to renting ice for use in our program. We sign ice contracts at the beginning of the season. Participant insurance costs and league fees represent our second largest expense. For the 2021/2022 season, the SCGHA has made every effort to include, where possible, contractual provisions (“COVID-19 Clauses”) which provide for a refund or credit of unused ice costs if the involved arena/facility becomes inaccessible due to circumstances beyond the SCGHA’s control, but depending on the arena, our ice costs may or may not be refundable.
