WHO ARE WE?

The Stoney Creek U22 Sabres (Junior) are an elite group of young female athletes who compete in the U22 Elite league as well as various high level showcase tournaments and events across North America. Throughout our rich 21-year history, over 150 athletes have gone on to play hockey at both the collegiate and professional levels. Some notable female hockey stars that have worn the green and gold include Brianne Jenner, Laura Fortino, and Sarah Nurse.

WHAT IS THE U22 Elite league?

The U22 Elite league as the successor to the former Provincial Women’s Hockey League is the highest level of female hockey in Ontario, involving over 20 teams across the province ranging from Windsor to Ottawa. It is one of the most well-known female hockey leagues in the world and produces future Olympic athletes year after year. Founded in 2004, the Stoney Creek Sabres were a part of the Provincial Women’s Hockey League in their inaugural season.
