What started with a player and her U11 AA team has snowballed into a community of girls hockey teams coming together to support women in the community and make some magic over the holidays. 60 boxes more than the goal were created!!
Parker Clark, a Stoney Creek Sabres U11AA player, has rallied the support of her teammates, organization and others to participate in creating holiday boxes for women in need. She will be donating the boxes to the Interval House shelter on Dec 5th at 3pm. The shelter supports women and their children.
What started as a personal commitment has grown into a full fledged movement supported by 7 (U11 and U9 rep and house league teams) as part of the Sabres commitment to community engagement. Sabres siblings on boys teams have also joined in to support women in the community towards Parker’s goal of 136 boxes. After all team wrapping sessions Parker was able to collect 196 boxes towards her goal, 60 more than she had hoped for!! She is extremely thankful and a excited to have exceeded her goal.
