Stoney Creek Sabres alumni return home to host the Next Gen Girls Hockey Camp.
Young athletes across Hamilton and the surrounding area will have an exciting opportunity this summer as Stoney Creek Sabres alumni return home to host the Next Gen Girls Hockey Camp.
Taking place July 20–23, 2026, the half-day development camp will bring together five Sabres alumni who have advanced to NCAA Division I programs and professional women’s hockey, giving the next generation of players the opportunity to learn directly from athletes who once wore the Sabres jersey themselves.
The camp will focus on skill development and position-specific training for players in the U9, U11, U13, and U15 age groups, helping young athletes build confidence, improve their game, and experience high-level coaching.
Sabres Alumni Giving Back
All five instructors share a special connection to the Stoney Creek Sabres Girls Hockey Association, where they once played together before advancing to elite levels of hockey across North America.
Now they are returning to Stoney Creek with a shared goal: to inspire the next generation of girls in hockey.

Position-Specific Development
One of the key features of the Next Gen Girls Hockey Camp is position-specific instruction, allowing players to learn directly from athletes who specialize in their position.
Players will take part in focused training sessions designed to improve:
• Forward scoring and offensive play
• Defensive positioning and puck movement
• Goaltending technique and reads
• Skating, puck skills, and game situations
The structure ensures athletes receive elite-level development while keeping the environment fun, competitive, and supportive.
Continuing the Sabres Legacy
For decades, the Stoney Creek Sabres have been one of Ontario’s premier girls hockey programs, producing athletes who have advanced to university, professional leagues, and international competition.
The Next Gen Girls Hockey Camp continues that tradition by bringing alumni back to mentor young players, showing them that the path from local minor hockey to the highest levels of the sport is possible.
By learning from players who once skated in their position, camp participants will gain not only hockey knowledge but also inspiration and confidence.
